Strengthening miratap’s Indonesian Footprint with Japanese-Grade Manufacturing at PT Hou-Tech Indonesia

Media Visit Recap and Key Announcements
SEQARA Communications spent the day in Pasuruan with the miratap team, welcoming national and Surabaya-based media to tour PT Hou-Tech Indonesia’s (HTI) operations inside the PIER Industrial Estate, East Java. HTI is our Japan-affiliated manufacturing partner, producing a wide range of miratap interior products tailored for the Indonesian market.
Our visit underscored two messages we care about deeply: quality grounded in the meticulous discipline of Japanese manufacturing, and a durable business commitment to serve both B2B and B2C customers nationwide. As emphasized by Yoshihiro Hishikawa, Marketing Advisor at PT Hou-Tech Trading (HTT), we wanted our media friends to see up close the process and quality controls that keep miratap products consistent, precise, and long-lasting. We are also maintaining stock availability and supply readiness to match a dynamic market.
Accelerating Custom Cabinet Production
This year, HTI commissioned a new facility dedicated to custom cabinetry—from kitchen sets and wardrobes to shelving—supported by 3D technologies. This upgrade shortens lead times dramatically from around 40 days to just 7, delivering immediate benefits for B2B projects: tighter schedules, cleaner coordination, and more punctual deliveries.
Measured Industrial Capacity
With current technology and capacity, HTI can produce roughly 6,000 interior doors and 10,000 wardrobe doors per month on a single shift. The factory also manufactures door substrates, laminated components (kamachi, surface panels, and cabinet materials), and materials for kitchen and wardrobe systems. This capacity has been engineered to meet growing demand from miratap customers across Indonesia.
Japanese Standards, Consistently Applied in Indonesia
Though made in Indonesia, miratap kitchen sets, doors, and wood wardrobes are built under Japanese supervision and benchmarks. We apply strict material selection, run international-certified modern lines, and execute multi-layer quality checks so every product meets our performance and aesthetic criteria.
Certifications and After-Sales Support
To ensure alignment with global standards, HTI holds FSC CoC (Forest Stewardship Council Chain of Custody) certification, verifying traceability of wood and paper inputs from responsibly managed forests through to finished goods. We also provide comprehensive after-sales support, including a one-year warranty for all products, as affirmed by Yoshihiko Imai, General Manager of PT Hou-Tech Indonesia.
Facility Profile and Supply Chain
HTI operates on a 32,200 m² site with 12,214 m² of plant area and is supported by 177 employees. The portfolio covers shoe cabinets, shoe racks, sliding doors, single doors, and wall cabinets—with 99% of output exported to Japan and 1% serving the local market. Currently, about 76% of materials are imported and 24% are sourced locally; the local share will continue to rise in support of the government’s domestic content (TKDN) initiative.
Integrated B2B and B2C Distribution
HTT leads distribution and marketing—online and offline—including e-commerce channels for B2B clients. For B2C customers, HTT partners with PT Tekno Desain Minimalis (PT PMDN) as national distributor. We also operate a miratap showroom in Pantai Indah Kapuk II, Jakarta, as an experience space for consumers and project partners.
Yoshihiro Hishikawa closed the visit by reaffirming that the miratap and Hou-Tech Indonesia collaboration continues on a positive trajectory, strengthening our drive to deliver innovative, Japanese-quality interior solutions and home equipment that are finely tuned to Indonesian market needs—especially within the future B2B segment.
About miratap
Our roots trace back to 1979 as Miwa Co., Ltd. in Yodogawa-ku, Osaka, Japan—an importer and seller of building materials. After evolving into Sanwa Company Co., Ltd., we expanded across Japan and entered Asian markets as well as the United States. In 2016, sanwacompany showcased products at the Milan Salone International Furniture Fair and, in 2018, became the first Asian company to receive the Milano Salone Award. In 2021, we launched a housing business in Japan focused on the living experience and acquired Best Bright in Kyushu to strengthen residential manufacturing capabilities. In 2024, sanwacompany officially rebranded as miratap.
