POCARI SWEAT Run Bandung 2026: Running in Order, Keeping the City Clean Together
The POCARI SWEAT Run 2026 series has officially wrapped up with its Bandung and virtual editions, following the opening leg held in Lombok last July. Across the entire series, the event successfully brought together 56,559 runners from 439 cities across Indonesia, underscoring the growing popularity of running as both a sport and a community movement.
In Bandung specifically, 7,600 runners took on the 10 km category on Saturday (19/9), while 8,400 runners conquered the half marathon distance on Sunday (20/9), all starting from Balai Kota Bandung in West Java.

A Ninth Year of Improvement
Marketing Director of PT Amerta Indah Otsuka, Puspita Winawati (Wina), expressed appreciation for the support of every institution involved and emphasized the organizer’s commitment to continuous evaluation for the comfort of all parties.
“This year marks the ninth year of POCARI SWEAT Run in Bandung. Every year, there is always evaluation and improvement together with all stakeholders — the City Government, the Police, and the community — to deliver the best running experience without neglecting the people of Bandung. We thank the residents of Bandung for their warmth and active participation in cheering along the entire route. This year, we made sure the event ran in an orderly manner and in line with the commitments agreed upon,” Wina said.
Bandung Mayor M. Farhan welcomed the increasingly well-organized event and its positive impact on the city.
“POCARI SWEAT Run is a special gift for the 216th anniversary of the City of Bandung. Beyond promoting public health, the presence of 16,000 runners brings a tangible economic impact for MSMEs and the tourism sector, with an estimated direct economic impact reaching Rp89.4 billion in West Java. We thank all residents of Bandung for their cooperation and the warm cheering along the route,” Farhan stated.
Zero Waste to Landfill Through the Otsuka Eco Blue Program
Beyond orderliness, cleanliness was also a top priority. POCARI SWEAT Run collaborated with local communities such as the Pandawara Group, whose members ran while picking up litter, to ensure the running route was clean once the event concluded. The collected waste will also be recycled, ensuring that nothing is sent to the final processing site (TPA), in coordination with the Bandung City Environmental Agency (DLH).
The event also offered an exciting first-time experience for Bandung-born singer and songwriter Rizky Febian, who joined a running event for the very first time.
“My first 10K running experience was truly enjoyable and felt incredibly special because it was held in my own city. The enthusiasm of the residents was extraordinary, making the atmosphere feel so warm and festive,” Rizky shared.
Wina reaffirmed the company’s mission of promoting a healthier Indonesia, saying, “POCARI SWEAT Run can serve as a platform for more people to become healthier through running.”
